On Tango Evolution workshops in Colombia, SC, February, 2008

Dear Clint, Lena, Edie and Mason,

I so enjoyed all the classes with you this past week-end.  Your teaching style suits my learning needs.  I was able to absorb so much and use it.

Lena, your help and patience in following my pathetic lead in the class was invaluable toward my goal of learning to lead.  I believe it will help me in being a better follower.

Thank you men for dancing with me. Clint, my tanda with you was transporting.  I am so seldom able to just relax and follow.  It was wonderful.

On Tango Evolution workshops in Chatanooga, TN, February 2008

I want to thank you <Clint>, Lena, Edie and Mason once again for coming up here <Chattanooga, TN>  to teach.

I have to say I am very impressed with Tango Evolution's approach to teaching. The workshops I attended were simply excellent, and I personally learned a great deal. I also think Tango Evolution's "team approach" to teaching is the most innovative idea I've seen in tango since GOTAN. I'm not sure how you guys hit upon the concept, but from my perspective I saw at least two big benefits:

1) At last, a mechanism to combat instructor exhaustion. I can easily recall week(end) tango workshops I attended where it was clear to me that the instructor and his/her partner were becoming visibly fatigued (and often more irritable) as the days progressed. And fatigue is contagious.

2) Having a technique (I thinking colgadas here) explained from multiple, articulate, and *non-contradictory* perspectives was really quite revelatory.

I'm sure we will host you again.

On Edie and Mason’s Doble-Frente class at Regional Tango eXchange, October 2007

Your Doble Frente class was excellent - initial overview; basics with enough technique; additional steps; summary - and with an explanation that this is just a start.  Good pace. Clearly spoken.  I liked it!

For me, it was my first exposure to Doble Frente, and now I'm intrigued.  If you are going to teach it some more, I'd be interested. I think it's great that you both are carrying tango teaching on in the next "generation" - and doing it so well.

On the Regional Tango eXchange, October 2007

“It was a complete success!!! I loved the pace of the classes, I loved the variety of it and the best thing was that all these people were in one room together doing something that they really love.”

“This weekend was a blast, man, and I'm so glad I could participate. “

“To Lena and all the members of Tango Evolution who worked so hard to make the weekend possible. Thank you for your efforts, they were definitely appreciated! I had a wonderful time dancing and learned so much.”

“I loved the notion and spirit of a regional tango exchange, and all of you pulled it off beautifully.  Thank you for a weekend that was easy, nourishing, exciting, and not so full / intense that the lessons will get lost in the quantity of information.  Well done!!”

“Kudos to you all for a great weekend.  Everything appeared to run smoothly and on schedule.  The instructors were great, and you provided us with varied choices.  We heard nothing but kind words from the out-of-town guests, some of whom were first-time visitors to Atlanta.  I'm sure you all "crashed" by Sunday night, but know that your efforts were appreciated by all.  Looking forward to next year...”
