I have been dancing for a little longer than three years, and DJing for year and a half. For me being in charge of the music was a natural extension of organizing a milonga. The same way I keep learning every time I dance, I learn new tricks every time I go to a milonga by paying attention to the music and what it works and what it does not. I specially like going to festivals out of town where the best DJ's in the country are in charge of the music in successive nights. Last Memorial Day in Denver was especially good, when in three days I got to listen to the music of Robert Hauk, Dan Boccia, Ramu Pyreddy and Robin Thomas.

When I DJ I prefer classical tangos, always in the lyrical side. My favorites? Caló, De Mare and some Canaro (in a song by song basis, not everything is good). My favorite tango? That is easy: "Malena" by De Mare. Favorite line? "Cumpliste 20 años, total ¿para qué?" from "Moneda de cobre".

If I use non tango music, I never use electronic tango (great to listen to, no so great to dance). I use Middle Eastern music: Israeli waltzes (sang in Hebrew or Ladino), Rai from Algeria, Lebanese songs, and some Nuevo Flamenco.

In the selection I present, there are just classical tangos, since I realize that other DJ's are going to be stronger in their selection of alternative music.

In my selection I included two tandas of De Mare, and two tandas of Caló. The rest are some of my favorites (something as diverse as D'Arienzo and De Angelis), music that I use in the milongas and that really inspires me to dance. I also include three tandas of milongas by Canaro, my new love in dancing and listening. This is the order:
